Dr. Catherine M. Logue is a distinguished professor in the Department of Population Health at the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine. Her research focuses on bacterial pathogenesis and food safety, with a specific emphasis on the detection and characterization of pathogens originating from food animal sources that impact both human and animal health. She is a recognized expert in the study of avian pathogenic Escherichia coli (APEC) and the mechanisms of colibacillosis in poultry. Prior to her tenure at the University of Georgia, Dr. Logue held academic positions at Iowa State University. She has contributed extensively to the field of microbiology and veterinary medicine through her research programs, which utilize in vitro, in vivo, and histopathological analyses to understand pathogen virulence. Dr. Logue is an active member of the academic community, contributing to graduate education and research initiatives within the Poultry Diagnostic and Research Center.
