About
Yolanda Martínez Pereira is a distinguished veterinary cardiologist and Senior Lecturer in Cardiopulmonary Medicine at the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies, University of Edinburgh. She qualified as a veterinarian in Spain in 1998 and subsequently moved to the United Kingdom to pursue advanced specialist training. She holds the RCVS Certificate in Veterinary Cardiology, the European Diploma in Veterinary Cardiology, and is recognized as both an EBVS European and RCVS Specialist in Veterinary Cardiology. Her clinical and research interests focus on interventional cardiology for congenital cardiac disease, as well as the pathophysiology and diagnosis of congestive heart failure in small animals. In addition to her clinical work, she is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and is actively involved in veterinary clinical education and the training of future specialists. She is also a co-author of the textbook 'Diagnostic Ultrasound in Cats'.
