Lorenzo José Fraile Sauce is a distinguished veterinarian and academic specializing in swine health, epidemiology, and clinical pharmacology. He earned his degree in Veterinary Medicine in 1992 and his Doctorate in Veterinary Pharmacology in 1996, both from the University of Zaragoza. His professional career includes significant experience in the private sector as a specialist pig veterinarian for Cargill España S.A. and Picber S.A., as well as extensive research contributions at the Centre de Recerca en Sanitat Animal (CReSA), where he served as head of the Department of Epidemiology, Disease Control, and Clinical Trials. He has also contributed to European regulatory efforts, including work with the European Medicines Agency and the Scientific Advice Group on Antimicrobials. Since 2010, Dr. Fraile has served as a professor at the University of Lleida, where he focuses on optimizing preventative medicine programs in pigs. He is a key contributor to the Master's Degree in Swine Production and Health, a collaborative program between the University of Lleida, the Complutense University of Madrid, and the University of Zaragoza.
