Kieran Borgeat

About

Kieran Borgeat is an American, European, and RCVS recognised specialist in veterinary cardiology. He graduated from the University of Bristol in 2005 and spent six years in general practice before completing a residency and Master’s degree at the Royal Veterinary College. Throughout his career, he has held leadership roles in both private referral clinics and academic teaching hospitals, including serving as Clinical Lead in Cardiology at Langford Vets and Clinical Director at Eastcott Veterinary Referrals. He currently practices at Bristol Vet Specialists, where he focuses on advanced cardiovascular medicine and interventional radiology. Beyond his clinical practice, Dr. Borgeat is a prominent researcher and educator who has pioneered novel procedures, including trans-catheter edge-to-edge repair (TEER) for mitral valve disease and stent angioplasty for pulmonary stenosis in dogs. He is an internationally renowned speaker, a module lead for various cardiology courses, and the co-host and producer of the award-winning podcast, The Animal Heartbeat. He is also the author of the book 'Case Studies in Cardiothoracic Medicine' and maintains an active presence in veterinary education through social media and professional consulting.
