About

Dr. Giordana Zanna is a distinguished veterinary dermatologist who graduated from the University of Bari, Italy, in 2000. Following her graduation, she gained international experience through general practice in Italy and externships at the Universities of Liverpool and Bristol in the United Kingdom. She subsequently completed a residency in veterinary dermatology at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) in Spain, where she earned her diploma from the European College of Veterinary Dermatology (ECVD) in 2010. During her time at UAB, she also completed her PhD, focusing on the pathogenesis of mucinosis-hyaluronosis in Shar Pei dogs. Currently, Dr. Zanna serves as the Head of the Dermatology Service at the Istituto Veterinario di Novara, part of the AniCura group in Italy. Beyond her clinical practice, she is a prominent figure in veterinary education, serving as the director and scientific mentor for dermatological courses organized by the Italian Companion Animal Veterinary Association (SCIVAC). She has held leadership roles including Vice President of the Italian Society of Veterinary Dermatology (SIDEV) and Secretary of SCIVAC. Dr. Zanna is a frequent lecturer at national and international conferences and maintains a strong research interest in non-invasive diagnostic techniques, particularly dermoscopy.
